If you’ve been in Cupcake Royale lately — or attended the Ballard ArtWalk a little over a week ago — you’ve likely seen Joey Bates’ “Paintings of Polaroids.” On his site, Bates says he “hopes to spend the rest of his days making art involving extensive line work and people.” I’ve always been a fan of blending art with reality, and this collection is certainly very cool.
