Elsa complained about the Ballard Safeway in LiveJournal, and she sparked quite a discussion about which is the best Ballard grocery store. “The Ballard Fred Meyer is where it’s at,” says one. “The QFC a bit further down on Holman road is fantastic,” says another. “The Ballard Market is one of the best groceries in the city,” writes a third. And then there’s the new Whole Foods coming soon in Interbay — and the new Trader Joes that’s under construction here in Ballard (surrounding Edith Macefield’s house.) Personally, we’ve been known to drive up to Central Market in Shoreline. What’s your favorite?
