Back in 1994, 16-year-old Melissa Fernandes was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting outside Ballard High School. An appeals court had overturned the conviction of Cesar Sarausad, who admitted to driving the car, because of faulty jury instructions. Now the case is headed to the U.S. Supreme Court to considering reinstating Sarausad’s conviction.
