Last month, the aerospace company University Swaging said it was moving out of Ballard. Now there’s word that Ballard Brass & Aluminum is leaving the neighborhood, too. “Ballard has gotten so expensive for manufacturing that we had to leave,” said VP Mark Morel. The company has been paying $1 a square foot to lease its facility on 50th St. near 9th Ave., but it will pay just 55 cents to lease a building in Georgetown — its new home.
