Marching band surprises Ballard neighborhood

Posted by Geeky Swedes on April 23rd, 2008

The Ballard High School marching band made a surprise appearance Wednesday evening, marching down East Ballard streets and playing to neighbors who gathered outside to watch.

About 50 members of the band filled the street. The horns and drums could be heard for blocks, but neighbors applauded the show. Go Beavers!

Adds Cindy in comments: “They practice on this same route every May (before the Syttende Mai parade) and every November (Thanksgiving parade?). A great mini parade for all the neighborhood kids every time!”

Ahhh memories from long ago in marching band. I recall doing the same thing as we prepared for a parade. Perhaps they are prepping for the Ballard parade. Is that next month or during Seafair?
