Remember that Snickers bar from Sunset Bowl that the Seattle Channel put up for auction on eBay? It sold for $52.03, with the proceeds going to the J.P. Patches statue going up in Fremont.

Will JP Patches’s statue be down there in the hall of mass murderers along with Lenin?

wow Suthii - Don’t even joke about JP… and if you really don’t know where the statue is going you should study up on local icons

Wow, nothing’s funnier than comparing a beloved local icon — especially a terminally ill icon — to a mass murderer. Real classy.
Also, other than Lenin, I’m not aware of any other statues of mass murderers anywhere in the city — certainly not enough for a “hall.”

I’ve met famous authors, movie stars, rock stars and politicians. None of them turned my brain to mush like JP Patches!
Decades ago I was a receptionist at the Seattle Center, and one day Chris Wedes called. When I figured out he was JP, I turned into a hopeless groupie. “Oh I just LOVE you!!” etc., etc.
I wonder if he was mildly irritated, or if he got a kick out of it? He was very nice on the phone. ;-)
People who aren’t from around here just don’t “get it” about JP.
