The big window with a grill, oven, and 2 dudes cooking food are evidence that there is a kitchen… C'mon Fargo!

  • 2 Chip // Apr 8, 2009 at 6:14 am

Hey Bum… What is your ideal selection? I actually think they have a pretty good selection.

  • 3 S. Ballard // Apr 9, 2009 at 5:17 pm

I'm not sure what people are talking about rude staff. They have been nice to me each time I've been in. Yes it gets busy on a Fri/Sat but expect it and just go to the bar to get a drink. Ballard is the new hot spot and it is just plain busy anywhere you go. I've been happy everytime I get food here…from the Greek salad to the black and blue sliders, it's all been delicious.

I've been to the Loft at night and have had a good time. A friend and I decided to stop by for an early afternoon drink on Memorial Day. The service was horrible. It took forever to even get a menu. I dont know why we decided to stick around, but the food was decent. Better service would have made for a much more enjoyable experience. I hope the people at the Ballard Loft are reading these comments!

  • 5 m // Jun 19, 2009 at 11:17 pm

terrible. the owners are frat boys that are in for the beer and chicks..thats cool…if you are and they are not. the service is overwhelmed and slow and the food is average at best.

  • 6 troubbble // Jul 13, 2009 at 10:36 pm

I think this place is awesome. I now have a renewed love for hot dogs! Plus the patio is a fantastic place to get some sun on my pasty-white Seattle skin and drink sangria. Bueno!

“M” is a 100% LIAR . Maybe if “M” wasn't so prejudice about people, “M” would learn more about people and have more friends. I happen to know these guys and a women (a wife of one), and they never even went to a college let alone were involved with a fraternity. They have only worked in the Bar industry for a number of years and are in business because thats what they do, for a living. Maybe if you were a more open minded individual they would be your friend too. Then again they may not be your type, seeing as they make a lot of friends, from all different backgrounds, and you don't have to pass a test based on initial looks and un educated assumptions to be their friend. Nice attempt at a helpful review you provided though. The Loft happens to have a great mix of people of all ages whenever I go in. That probably expains your distaste for the Loft. Also, give me a break, their food is way above average. Quit being a Hater “M”.

The smokers need to be dealt with.

I like the place, a great atmosphere, close to the house, good specials. The problem is that the best part of the place is the outdoor seating, and it's always overwhelmed by clouds of smoke from the jackasses smoking right over the rail close to the patio so they can still see the TVs.

It's obnoxious and until the place cracks down on it I'm not going back.

I ate here once and found the food and service slightly below average, so I haven't been back. I think a review upon just one visit wouldn't be fair – BUT

… I still have to go past on my way home and I just can't stand the vibe of this place now. I know their clientele like the music on the loud side but WOW.I WHY does this business have to blare it so it infects the other unique and historic atmosphere of this special block?? It's not very neighborly. Sorry Loft.

  • 11 Sue // Mar 24, 2010 at 9:20 am

The staff is great at the Loft. The food is another story. Twice in a row our food was crappy – soup not hot, greens bitter, +- on the sliders, al of it less that so-so. We won’t eat there again.

  • 12 tootie12 // Mar 24, 2010 at 4:25 pm

The staff is great but the food not so great. Our last two meals were less than so-so. Soup not hot, greens bitter and bacon over cooked, sliders +/-. We won't be eating there again.

  • 13 the mayor // May 3, 2010 at 10:40 am

the loft is great… i have heard people say other wise but you cant please everyone… the biggest problem people say is that it gets too crowded on fr/sat night. but just deal with it people! ballard is a hot spot now. loft staff is always friendly but it helps if you try and get to know them! also i love the big Bud Lights and porky pigs! and the owners always due their best to take care of me!

  • 14 FYOUHIPSTERS // Feb 2, 2011 at 11:46 pm

The employees could give a damn wether you have money in your
pocket or not. Too many tatoos, piercings, attitudes to attempt to
give good service. Food is OK, patio is cool, but always crowded.
I usually pass on work related events held here, because the service
is just that bad. There are a lot of bars within a block or two, so keep
    looking.

  • 15 Tootie12 // Mar 26, 2011 at 5:39 pm

Decided to retry this place after swearing it off for a year or so. Our NINE DOLLAR hot dogs were luke warm at best, too were buns and the cheese didn’t get enough time under the heat to melt. Overpriced, VERY marginal food, service isn’t friendly and the cocktails spendy. Leave this joint off your list – save your money!

  • 16 Annie // Mar 28, 2011 at 10:35 pm

I would NEVER go in there again. The waitress we horrible and it seems to be a place for their friends to hang out than actual customers spending over $100 for dinner on a Sunday night. We were upstairs and 4 other young friends of the waitstaff were up there and the language and screaming was completly inappropriate for the establishment. When we asked if she would have them quite down abit we were told “it’s a sports bar” . Nice. I called and spoke to the DAN the manager and he said about the same thing ….. so if you want to eat dinner and drink $9 lousy terrible actually margaritas this would be the place for you but as for us NO THANKS!!!!!!

  • 17 poseur // Apr 26, 2011 at 9:27 pm

Thank god this place is NOT family friendly: it’s a SPORTS bar.

    Get a clue.

We have been operating in Melbourne CBD and the surrounding suburbs helping Melbourne locals with their mortgage since 1999. We have gained a huge amount of experience in that time, as you’d imagine, so give us a call and see how much easier it is having us manage your mortgage for you instead of you having to do all the running around yourself. We are not a huge corporate who spans the whole country, we are a small business based solely in Melbourne, well placed to share with you good local, knowledge.

Today, you will discover practically any kind of electronic system and devices on the Internet, ranging from cameras in addition to camcorders to computer spare parts and video gaming consoles.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

Nevertheless, coming from what I have personally seen, I simply just wish as the actual opinions pack on that people continue to be on issue and in no way start on a tirade involving the news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this excellent point and while I do not really agree with this in totality, I regard the perspective.

The very crux of your writing whilst sounding reasonable in the beginning, did not really settle perfectly with me personally after some time. Somewhere within the paragraphs you actually managed to make me a believer but only for a short while. I nevertheless have a problem with your jumps in assumptions and one might do nicely to help fill in all those breaks. When you can accomplish that, I will certainly be amazed.
