It's kind of unfair to compare this to restaurants as it is really a bar with some good snacks. Great people too, both staff and yokels.

great for snacks and a drink. Perfect for a mid afternoon happyhour snack when you know you'll be out real late and will be grabbing a late dinner.

Service can be a little wonky but it's nothing to worry about.

Haven't really gone there as an actual bar yet, so no opinion on the cocktails and crowds.

Attended the soft opening for TigerTail's brunch service this weekend. The menu had a great selection of brunch items. They had the standard eggs & bacon, tasty scrambles, huge Southern-style biscuits & gravy, Hawaiian breakfast rice bowls, and French toast. Everything that we had was really delicious. Lisa, our server, was really attentive and friendly. The coffee bar (serve-yourself) was hot and fresh. The $4 mimosas also really hit the spot. If you are looking for a new brunch place in Ballard, this is the place to try. It gives Hattie's a really run for its money - plus, you don't have to deal with the organic market hoopla down on Ballard Ave on Sunday mornings.

Have yet to try the brunch. Food on the regular menu was good, not great but good. The service was very friendly and attentive, though, and the place is just really pleasant.

Unfortunately, Tigertail is now closed. There's a notice on the door indicating that the owner has encountered a serious problem with the IRS. Unclear if/when it may reopen.

Sad to see a truly unique and fun night spot going under like this.

The first time I went nobody came to take our drink order for a good 10 minutes. Nobody said, "hello," or "we're slammed, we'll be with you shortly'" nada. I left.
The second time I went (many months later, I had to talk myself into it) the service was slow and not particularly friendly. Food was good. Overall, I was underwhelmed.
Ugh. Don't be in the service industry if you can't handle the service.
I wouldn't miss Tigertail if they shut down permanently.
