Traffic pain increasing on 15th Ave.

Posted by Geeky Swedes on May 22nd, 2008

The ongoing repaving project on 15th Ave. in Interbay is approaching the south side of the Ballard Bridge, creating traffic headaches as crews redirect traffic. We drove down 15th from Belltown to Ballard yesterday evening and sat in traffic for an extra ten minutes. But 15th desperately needs a fresh coat of pavement, so we’re not compaining. Well, not too much.

got to experience the bus lane yesterday.... i loved it... not only was it fast, but you could just feel the ire from the car drivers sitting at a stand still as we blew past them. this, along with $4 a gallon will cause more people to ride the bus and i am all for it. the only thing that seems to be lacking in this equation is metro increasing the frequency of routes.

imagine if you just knew that an express bus would come every 15 minutes. you wouldn't need to plan, you just go and catch the bus when you are ready. this would truly change the ridership. the buses are packed as is, they need to increase the routes anyway

Astute observers will note that the newly paved northbound traffic's curb lane is 'bus rapid transit. '

    A change for this roadway......
