Phinney Market closing on Friday

Posted by Geeky Swedes on August 21st, 2008

PhinneyWood is reporting that Phinney Market will go out of business on Friday. The store has been struggling with financial problems. There will be a farewell BBQ from 4-7 p.m. this Friday.

All I got to say is that there service was so bad I stopped shopping there.

They told me they were remodeling. I guess they lied.

    Convenient? Yes. Quality? Meh.

Every time I went into the Phinney Market for lunch they seemed to have 2 employees inside, and 4 employees outside smoking cigarettes and joking around. If you've got a boutique grocery store up on Phinney Ridge and you can't make it work, I agree with Suthii - get a new business manager.

    Yep.

Are u comparing the ciggie, lottery ticket, Doritos and lite beer vendor on 8th Ave, formerly called the 'Wicked' Basket, with the Phinney Market that sells good produce and healthy food?

And where are the Target and Williams Sonoma in this area or are you just being overly dramatic for (non) effect?

As far as I can see plenty of independent businesses in the area, some thriving, some not. I guess those that don't, didn't have good buiness plans.

Ugh. Here we go again! Should I just copy and paste all the comments from the Wicker Basket fiasco into this one? Another one bites the dust...They are droppin like flies those little intimate little neighborhood markets...Let's put a Target there...or a Williams Sonoma for those granite countertop owner folks...I am about to be the proud parent of granite countertops myself but I do not consider myself anything other than myself...
