Starbucks officially unveils the Clover

Posted by Geeky Swedes on August 26th, 2008

Up until now, Starbucks was silently testing the Clover in three Seattle stores. Now, the Ballard-made specialty coffee machine is available in ten local Starbucks stores — but not in Ballard, Fremont, Phinney Ridge or Greenwood. (The closest are in Green Lake and Queen Anne.) If you want Clover coffee in Ballard, Aster on 24th near Market St. remains your only choice.

And that's OK with me, because Aster is just fine.

It is kind of cool that Starbucks is actually going to use the cool tech, instead of just burying it and/or making it too lame for the hipsters at Stumptown.

Coffee out of the clover is exquisite. Starbucks made a brilliant move buying these guys.

    In your face Stumptown!

My brother came all the way from San Francisco to try this coffee out. He says it's like french press but not as oily. Well, as long as it isn't $4 for a cup o' joe, I'll check it out.

Check out Aster. They serve several delicious flavors of your choice for the Clover, reasonably priced, and they have several nice beer and wine selections!
