Pet boutique coming to Market Street

“I noticed that the first story or two of the building across the street from Ballard Blossom is all boarded up. I’m curious what’s going on there,” GB emailed us. So we did some checking.

According to the employees at Epilogue books and Ballard Blossom, a pet boutique is going in there. The gals didn’t remember the name of the shop but said that there are several other locations in the city.

    They are doing a remodel to restore the original large windows to this building. It should do a lot to enhance it and return it to a closer version of it's original 1909 facade.

    What in the world is a pet boutique? Is it a pet store, a pet grooming parlor (a la the one on 85th), or something else?

    this is good news. i only shop at boutiques, and my dog has been without food for a while b/c i can't find many around.

    You know, at one point boutique could just mean "independent shop." Who really needs to get up in arms about this (though Gooner you're pretty funny)

    ballard is inundated w/boutique's right now. a pet boutique only seems fitting! good luck w/that.

    If you're looking for some swell retail space - that's going to be available again in 7 months.

    i agree with you jmi. and i am the first to support independent shops....

    not sure when this definition changed... but boutique today pretty much says "over priced $#%@" with some sort of exclusivity to it.

    cant wait for the fad to be over.

    If it's All the Best, that's good. It's more of a pet supply store (food, cat litter, shampoo, treats etc) then a "pet indulgence boutique".

    Why do people who live in Ballard hate so much? They hate stores and condos an rich 30-somethings and trader joes and pretty much everything. I was hoping to leave the LA-east side attitude back in LA, Ballard is just a dirtier version of Los Feliz (to Capitol Hill's version of Silverlake). I wish everyone would get over themselves, so I don't have to deal with attitude everytime I leave my house.
