Cat escapes from hospital, may be headed to Ballard

Phinney Animal Hospital on Greenwood Ave. has had an escapee. Please keep your eyes open for an orange cat with a blue e-collar (those plastic cones they get after a procedure). Her name is Elsa. She was last seen on 83rd St. between Greenwood and 1st around 11 a.m. Needless to say, the owner is distraught.

Update: From Polly in comments - Thanks for your concern, the cat has been recovered! Just a correction on the circumstances, the cat did not “escape” from the animal hospital, she escaped her carrier on the way to her car, but the staff did spend the day helping to find her.

  • Oh no! Phinney Ridge Animal Hospital is my favorite vet to go to... I take my dog there. I know they must feel awful and I hope the kitty is found safe and soon.

Congratulations on getting your cat back! It's scary when they get away from you...

Glad to hear that she did not escape from the animal hospital - I've been thinking about taking my cat there, and certainly don't want to take him someplace where they can get out, since he's REALLY good at that anyway.

Daisymayrobin, thanks for the thumbs up on the vet - you may have helped make the decision to go there!

It's a very good clinic. I don't take my kitties there. However being a kitty foster parent through the Seattle Animal Shelter, I know other foster parents who love that place. I've never heard a bad word about them.

I love this place too. I used to go to an overpriced vet that liked to up the bill. The staff at Phinney are soooo considerate and I have never walked out of there uncomfortable with my bill.
The vet techs have literally carried my big dog out of my car for me when I was pregnant and needed some help. They also always remember who I am no matter how long it had been since my last visit.

dogowner...your description of the vet upping the bill makes me wonder if we were in the same place (Ballard Animal Hospital?). They use a lot of scare tactics there.

Phinney Ridge does birds as well, don't they? My bird looooves her vet, so I wouldn't switch, but he's too far away for emergencies.

Phinney Ridge Animal Hospital is the BEST. Great vet docs, awesome techs, nice front office staff, and the best office manager ever! Compassionate, competent, caring, and cool!
