A look at Golden Gardens Drive

Posted by Geeky Swedes on January 8th, 2009

We walked down to the slide area on Golden Gardens Drive to see how the repairs are progressing, and we discovered the roadway is nearly complete:

SDOT says they expect the roadway — which has been closed just over a year now after a washout — will reopen in mid-January.

Here’s the roadway in January of last year. Bicycle markings and signage will be installed after the roadway opens later in the spring.

"It’s to bad they couldn’t add sidewalks so it was a little safer."
I guess that's what the stairs are for. A little more huffing and puffing by the time you get to the top, but in SDOT's opinion it's adequate.
OTOH, more of a bike lane would be nice. That road was a bit narrow for two cars and a bike.

Mevans walkers use the path. It's quite safe.
  • Now we can give the residents of 65th St right off 32nd Ave a break from heavy car traffic.

I'm really glad to see that. I have missed not having that access up and down the hill.
