You may remember back in August when Rachael Ray and camera crews visited Volterra restaurant here in Ballard. It was part of the Food Network show, Rachael’s Vacation. Now there’s an air date: March 1st at 2 p.m. The episode will also feature Seattle restaurants Cactus in Madison Park and Lark on Capitol Hill, as well as Rachael’s visit to Easy Street Records in Queen Anne.

Give her a break! Successful chef, looks good and giving local venues some exposure.

Jeez - what a bunch of

Do you think all the protesters at Lark are gonna watch?

Agree with LarryB. I dislike RR as much as most of the other posters, but in what is a really tough economy for restaurants, we should be thankful that this show may influence tourists visiting Seattle to venture up to Ballard. And that is good for all of us.

    She bugs.
  • Oh, no!
Rach is the goddes of the kitchen - ordinary person cooking good and tasty food quickly and with a smile. I want one in my kitchen!

Y'know what - liking or not liking RR is not the issue. Her show may bring more tourists to Ballard, which is a GREAT thing. They may stop off for a beer at the Old Town or the Sunset. Maybe catch a show at the Tractor, 0r have dinner somewhere around here. And maybe buy some souvenirs. All good things for Ballard.

Too bad she couldn't have visited some good restaurants for the filming.....
