Three great events this weekend

Posted by Geeky Swedes on February 27th, 2009

There are three terrific events on the calendar for this Saturday evening, and all three of them are helping good neighborhood causes. The first is the Empty Bowls fundraiser for the Ballard Food Bank.

For a minimum donation of $10, you’ll select a unique, hand-crafted bowl created by a local artist and sit down for a dinner of soup and bread. When dinner’s over, you’ll take the bowl home. That’s this Saturday, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Ballard Community Center. Also on Saturday evening, the Ballard High School PTSA is throwing its annual dinner and auction at the Lake Union Armory at South Lake Union. And finally, the Phinney Neighborhood Association is holding its 19th Annual Wine Taste with ten tastes of wine, delicious hors d’oeuvres from Bill Drummond Catering and swinging jazz performed by Randy Rush’s band Deja Blue. It runs from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

    GeekySwedes,

I sent you a link to my flickr photo stream, the file sizes were too large to email more than one or two at a time.

and yes Rusty the soup was GOOD!

Wonder if Ballard will have a similar
    Neighborhood Association some day like
    Phinney does?
...though it might dilute from the
    Phinney group if we did
    ...anyway just
    crossed my mind ;-)

I actually stopped by the Empty Bowls table at the Market this weekend, I happened to have my camera with me, and they asked me to take pictures at the event. :) I am excited for the event and will be happy to share my photos with MyBallard and EmptyBowls!
