Suspect shot by police linked to Ballard robbery

Posted by Geeky Swedes on July 2nd, 2009

The suspect that police shot yesterday at Holman Road and Greenwood Ave N was wanted for several robberies, including the bank robbery in Ballard.

Police say the 36-year-old male suspect remains under guard at Harborview Medical Center after a 10-year veteran on the Seattle Police force shot him. In addition to the bank robbery in Shoreline yesterday that he was originally accused of, detectives believe this suspect was also involved in the Cowgirls Espresso robbery on Sunday morning, the attempted bank robbery at the Bank of America on 85th on Monday and the bank robbery at the Chase branch on 22nd Ave NW on Tuesday. Once the suspect is recovered he will be moved to King County Jail and booked for Investigation of Robbery and Assault.

Imagine just driving YOUR kids home from a days trials and then this thug rams YOUR vehicle. Was he robbing people to help his aging parents? Place his kids in a better school? A "waste of taxpayers money that could be better spent" eh? Certainly yet another sign of superior intelligence there sweetie. Perhaps when let out of the pokie all too soon he'll move in a home, right next to you and YOUR kids. "Programs" that've broken this state and country. Attention felons: turn yourself in TODAY. Do the right thing TODAY. Still waiting for the obligatory "this just doesn't happen in our neighborhood" crap too. Welcome to LA

I think you're misinterpreting the comment above, or just messing with us :)

couldn't agree more. the waste of more taxpayers money that could be spent on programs more deserving!

WHAT waste of taxpayers money, exactly? Do you mean that shooting a felon is? Or that he wasn't killed outright, thus saving taxpayers to cost of taking care of this miscreant in the hospital? What programs are more deserving than ridding our city of criminals? I think the SPD should get MORE money and more personnel.

I applaud the SPD for catching this guy.

Doesn't it amaze you that some people just don't seem to have any hint of higher intelligence?
  • chopper_74
Nope, not that it didn't use to...
  • chopper_74
Sounds like a little more SPD firing range time is warranted...
Sorry, but this guy deserved to by-pass the courts.
You risk life, you risk yours.

You don't know what you're talking about! The car was moving and the cop still hit his target. Those rounds are all within a few inches of each other which is pretty good shooting. Love to see you do a better job.
  • chopper_74
ok, relax, it looked like a good shoot, it looked like a difficult situation, and no-one else caught any lead. I doubt I could do better, I'd rather not have to try...
  • Come on, play nice. Chopper already said that the police did their job. Let's all learn to de-escalate a bit.
  • I saw the drivers side window, the bullet holes were pretty well grouped. And the target was moving, after all...

I'm just glad they caught this guy. He sounds like an ugly one, and he was clearly operating out of our neighborhood.
  • chopper_74
Yeah, he'll be out of commission, for awhile at least.
Didn't really mean to knock the SPD, they obviously knew who they were looking for, and got him, that's good for sure.
