New sweet spot on Sunset Hill

Posted by Geeky Swedes on July 18th, 2009

There’s a new ice cream place to please your sweet tooth on Sunset Hill, but they’re only open for three hours once a week. Parfait isn’t your ordinary ice cream truck. They serve organic artisan ice cream made from scratch with their milk from Fresh Breeze Organic Dairy in Lynden, the eggs come from Stiebers Farms in Yelm and the coffee beans come from, well, Caffè Fiorè. They make organic waffle cones from scratch and hand press and roll each one. Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Decadent Chocolate and Meyer Lemon Bar are just a few of their mouth-watering flavors. The Parfait mobile parlor rolls up to the Caffè Fiorè on 85th and 32nd on Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Thanks Carilyn and Michelle for the tip!)

Tried their lemon bar and it was out of this world. It was totally delicious and what a way to enjoy my midday walk. The long wait was definitely worth it.

Signature: Looking for premium natural vanilla beans at a bargain? Drop by at www.myvanillashop.com for best value.

We walked up to 85th and 32nd with our young daughter today to get cones. The list of flavors looked delicious and we debated on what to get as we waited in a line that was 20 deep. Too bad we never got to try the goods. We waited for 10 minutes and in that time only 2 people got served, so we bailed.

I adore ice cream -- organic or not -- so if they can improve their service, I'll give them a second chance.

    Fresh mint was delicious!

When I arrived there were about 6 parties in front of me in line, and on the drive past on my way back from Golden Gardens at around 3:30, the line seemed quite a bit longer. People really have been ice cream/street food starved in Seattle, it seems!

I tried the blueberry. The texture seemed a little dry , but it was quite delicious overall and you could really taste the freshness of the blueberries. 2.75 for a mini scoop, 3.75 for regular, and homemade krumkake waffle cones are an additional .75 cents.
