OMG please have Musks and any other wonderful candy from Australia… like green apple eating licorice, or the cookie dough flavored kit kats… Those are amazing… And real cadbury!

I have tried Uwajimaya and sadly they don't have these! I could order them from the internet….but if Blackbird stocked them then woohoo—- I could just walk to their place and gorge myself with them!

Take a trip down to Uwajimaya some time. They have all sorts of good little snacky foods imported from Japan and other asian countries. You should try the Japanese potato chips too.

FANTASTIC SUGGESTIONS FOR BLACKBIRD: (based on my travels)

- Japanese candy! Specifically flavored kit-kats. Do you know how difficult these are to find outside of Japan?! I have searched everywhere and they are super delicious. My favorites are salted caramel, pudding and coffee!

- I've had some fabulous gummy candy from Italy – specifically Rome. It is not your typical brand and haven't been able to find them!

Hey guys…I was on a HUNT for this candy having remembered it from my childhood and they are indeed called FLICKS, they were indeed made by Ghiradelli in SF. You can still get them from Ghiradelli, but you can't get them in a tube…just a bulk bag. To my knowledge (last time I looked) they sell actual Flicks at Majestic Bay. I saw them behind the counter and about screeched with excitement. :)

The Bueno Bars have an apt name, I tell you! The Happy Hippos are actually shaped like wee hippos and have little candy faces. They're kind of a cross between a cookie/candy. They're adorable AND tasty. I heart them.

Here's one I haven't heard yet.

We used to get packs of funny cards wrapped up with a flat piece of bubble gum. The ones I liked best were the ones that parodied products like Wheaties, or Mr. Clean. They would have gross pictures on the cards that mimicked the actual product packaging. I wish I could remember what they were called!

Kerala, Flicks were the best!!! Yummy chocolate in a foil tube (green, red, blue or the oh-so-special gold) and the very best treat to eat while at the movies. Way better than the filling-removal Jujubees. I believe they were made by Ghiradelli in SF. I heard from my sister who lives in CA that a small company down there bought the rights to Flicks and is now producing them on a small scale. How cool if we could get them distributed at a few independent theaters here. Like I need more chocolate?!

Back in my reckless youth, my friends and I attended “Star Trek 1″ (the motionless picture) at the John Danz. That was probably the most illegal drugs I've ever had in my body at one time. We laughed long and loud at all the funny parts.

It was years later that somebody pointed out to me that there are no funny parts in Star Trek 1…
