I'd imagine Rhapsody Partners is in no rush. At least not until all of the identical new construction Ballard condos (that have been sitting on the market for over a year) sell first.

We're talking about aesthetics, nothing less nothing more. Yes, rooftop gardens and density are great. This is a cookie cutter building with no creative thought lended to the project. It's such a landmark building site, and this boring box falls way short. Could I do better? Hell yes.

Agree with NoraBell. And i understand that design is subjective. I'm just not into this one. In fact, I would've chimed back a little earlier but i fell asleep at my desk from looking at this photo.

Development is inevitable. But can't we develop with Ballard's heritage in mind? This photo could be on www.myfederalway.com. Does anybody else see anything troubling about that?

Ballard needs more open space NOT more condos that will sit empty for who knows how long. What about transforming this space into a park to serve all the people who already live here?

Maybe the developers would be willing to sell to the city since they have cash from the pro parks levy. I am sure the developers feasability study isn't looking so hot right now and maybe they want to get out!?

I've brought this up before. The real issue is liability. What if someone get's hurt in the greenspace? What we need is for the city to provide liability coverage for the space, otherwise, no way are they going to bring down the fences.

Looks ok to me. I like the rooftop garden. What do all you haters want there??? Some shanty clapboard shacks festooned with old maritime chains & anchors!!! The Denny's was a pit, this is much nicer. Guess what, each condo owner will add another bicycle to the streets! If you are against density, why did you move to Ballard? The GMA has been published for quite some time.

I hate to be negative on an already negative thread but man….This design has always bummed me out. It looks like a retirement community that Bothell would've been excited for in 1992. It has all the character of a dentist's office. Like,I literally get tired when I look at this photo.
