Seattle Times said the SPD already had his finger prints from that prior arrest and matched them to the crime scene. Looks like the case is wrapped-up.

Well, apparently he does have a rap sheet. I just read the Times article and I believe it said he WILL be tried as an adult. I hope he gets the death sentence.

Where are his parents? What do you bet that when it goes to court,his mother will describe him as ” a sweet young boy who wouldn't hurt anyone…” despite the fact that he was charged with assault and robbery just last summer?

THAT doesn't matter. i'm surprised at the angle this thread has taken. i'm thrilled! i just hope they don't find a legal loophole (like seattle does) that will allow this kid to walk. the system will have once again failed. from the video, it looks like the kid had free reign of the register (unless it was already empty). he could have had anything and walked. but he stayed and killed the clerk. to me, that's pure intent.

Baghead- Slightly off topic, but Hurricane was a grossly exaggerated Hollywood film with lot of skewed facts and false information. Rubin Carter wasn't exactly the complete victim as portrayed in the film.

Well, the suspect appears to be behind the counter and the victim isn't visible until end of the clip. And the clip is edited. You're probably right about the disguise. The suspect could have been a regular customer, but the clerk may have recognized him.

Probably no one. Look at the video, this does not feel like all the other armed robbery videos we've seen on tv. Usually the guy hides his image, but does not go out of his way like this guy did. I think more often than not, a stranger drives in from another part of town, gets in gets out, and does not come back. Only someone local would take that much effort to hide. They also usually storm in with such force that people are afraid to move. It strikes me there is a wierd interplay between the clerk and the theif in this video, almost a bit of a relationship – I mean at some point the clerk felt comfortable jumping this guy after first being intimated. It seems to me that when a clerk takes action in these moments, its right away. Granted I'm no expert, but if you've seen other vidoes on americas most wanted, this one feels different. I'm sure all the police had to do was ask around, “has the clerk, or store been having trouble with people latley”, I bet their is other video of other altercations, and from, an investigative standpoint, one thing led to another. I mean, it strikes me that their is a relationship here, and I'd bet a dollar this was no lone incident. I doubt this is one person saying, dude robbed a store, and someone Snitching!

Snitch'in – God I had that concept! What a blow to civic duty and moral. courage!

Sad in so many ways loss and tragedy everywhere. For the victim’s family, their will be no end to their pain. As for the accused, for what it will cost to incarcerate the guilty, the state could have bought them a nanny, room and board, education, and world travel. How productive and beautiful they might have been.

Tough to tell. It was settled by an estate and sold to James Phillips Robert in 1985 for $44,500. At such a low price, you could rent that out and cover whatever type of low mortgage you had extremely easily. If the suspect is 17 years old that means the owners of the house have owned it his entire life. Anyone remember different residents at this location every year?
