Although I'm not saying they were expecting “customers” as implied above – I wouldn't think that drugs would be in the list of items taken. I can't imagine a drug dealer would be listing that on the police form . . .

I used to live there last year. they are called the newland apts. at 8620 3rd ave nw. there is a call box. you have to be buzzed in unless you have a code.
drug deal gone bad……is all i am going to say.
when i lived there drugs were a problem, that's why i moved.

shame on you for jumping to conclusions.....
the building has a "secure" front door that requires a key or to buzz the unit.
so, if no one buzzed why would you not think it was a neighbor?
the shotgun was a legacy from grandpa.
when you are the victim of a crime maybe you will be a bit more sympathetic.

Why? I've had neighbors knocking on the door that late. I've knocked on neighbor doors that late. For varying reasons (radio too loud, borrowing food for a found cat, little stuff like that) but it's not so unusual I'd hesitate to open the door if I heard a knock at 11. That's apartment life.

My door is SOLID, no peep holes or anything and I have 3 guns. They could have thought it was a neighbor (I've had to knock on neighbors late in the night before) and I don' think I would have thought twice about grabbing my handgun either. And no, just because I own 3 guns, doesn't mean I have “customers”, way to jump to conclusions. I would think if they did sell something, that it would have been included in the items they took.

I did some Googling, came across the My Green Lake site and found out that there have been at least 8-10 car prowls in the Greenlake area just in the last 2 weeks. It is so tempting to drive to a lot over there, be rather theatrical about tossing an empty purse or backpack into the backseat and then wait off view with a video camera with a very powerful telephoto lens (and a cell phone ready to call the police). In the meantime, I might go back to look around and see if any of my things were discarded which is what happened to one of the other persons, sans credit cards of course. I'd really like to have my glasses back.

The criminal element around here seems to be getting more brazen every day. A few days ago I had my car prowled in broad daylight at the Greenlake PCC parking lot during peak shopping hours when there were plenty of people around. Be very careful, I think some of these creeps are sitting in their cars watching us and seeing if we put anything into the trunk before going into the store and can break into certain types of vehicles very quickly with just a screwdriver. And I was only in the store for 15 minutes when this all happened with nobody seeing it.

That was my first thought. These guys knew what they were looking for. Nobody coincidentally finds a shotgun during a robbery. I have a feeling the police have an idea who was involved.
