Locks Deli reopens as ‘Sharif’s’

Locks Deli at the corner of 28th & Market closed last Thursday and Sharif’s has already opened in its place.

Sharif’s is the new store owned by Steven Saleh, who also owns Saleh’s at the corner of 24th & 80th. Saleh says he has changes planned for the space including a huge wine selection, beer from around the world, gourmet cheese, espresso and a full deli that will serve their signature Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. “Let our customers know that the Philly is back!” he says. Most of the items they carry are by request, so if you don’t see something you like, let’em know. He says he’ll stock an item for awhile and if it’s popular then he’ll re-order it.

  1. Sounds good! I never stopped in the old place. From the outside it didn't look like it would have anything I'd want. Glad to have this site to make me better informed. Maybe if the new owner makes improvements to the outside, it will draw in folks like me (who sometimes judge by the cover 8- ) but don't read this blog.

  2. Awesome, now after enjoying a few great beers at the Kiss Cafe, I can walk home and grab a sixer of good beer on the way.

This is excellent news! Yea Saleh's! I love that place, the fact that they fit so many good beers in such a small storeIs amazing. I'm excited to see what they can do with this one; it's at least twice the size!

  3. I'm so excited this place is opening. Love me some Philly cheese! Met the owner last weekend. Seems like a really nice person to have in the neighborhood. Welcome!

  4. Can't get enough of the philly. I'd like to suggest both an eggy cheesey breakfast sandwich and a breakfast burrito. Also, if you are considering beers of the world, please consider carrying Corsendonk from Belgium. They make several beers (I like the Abby Brown Ale) and they are slightly more affordable than many Belgians. I think most people are getting a bit tired of Duvel, Chimay, and, especially, Unibroue (Canadian anyway).

  5. Steven is a super, super nice guy and I hope he does great in the new location. Though I've never had one, I've heard those Philly sandwiches are fantastic. I hope everyone will turn out to support him and his shop!

  6. Cdub
Tony's Pizza 645 N Railroad St Colville.Best philly cheesesteak I've ever had. Can't wait to try the one at Sharif's.I even went on line to search for phillys in Seattle.

  7. Have always loved those Philly’s! Today I tried the Gyros and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Even rivals those I had in Greece!! Amazing. Now I’m in no hurry for Mr. Gyros to open in Ballard.
Thanks and I’ll be back Steven!!
