Possible vehicle information released in cop shooting

Posted by Geeky Swedes on November 5th, 2009

This photo was distributed by the Seattle Police Department in connection with the shooting death of Seattle Police officer Tim Brenton.

Seattle police are looking for a Datsun B210 car similar to this one shown in an online car advertisement. The vehicle may be connected with Saturday’s shooting.

If you have any information regarding this case you can contact Seattle Police at 206-233-5000, anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 206-343-2020 or through a text message by texting TIP486 with a message, then sending that to 274637 (CRIMES).

The procession for Officer Brenton will be tomorrow starting at the University of Washington at 9 a.m. and ending at Key Arena around noon. Our news partner, the Seattle Times has information about the event including road closures. SDOT says to expect severe congestion around the route (map here).

  • From scanner traffic it sounds as though police are conducting a grid search of the city, looking for this car.

Is the vehicle listed as the same color as the above photo?

OMG! That was the car I took my driver's exam in years and years and years ago. I can't imagine there are too many of those still running today. Should be pretty conspicuous if it's parked out on the street.

KMill, I'm with you, there can' t be that many of these still moving under their own power. I assume they're checking the DOT's files? I saw one yesterday, parked at a business on S. Findlay somewhere between Marginal way and 6th.

Maybe it wasn't gangbangers....would any self respecting gang banger drive this?

Just FYI, it wasn't my Datsun B210. Mine is bright yellow (the suspect car is blue), an older version, and doesn't run right now. :)
