Food Network cancels filming at Farmers Market

Update: We heard from Dante first thing Saturday morning who tells us the filming tomorrow has been canceled. The producer for the show says the crew, who is based in Vancouver, does not wish to venture down with the chance of inclement weather. They might try again next weekend, but as Dante says, the weekend after Thanksgiving is usually slow at the Market.

Previous story:Dante Rivera says he won’t be getting much sleep on Saturday night. That’s because come Sunday he’ll be the center of attention. The Food Network will be shooting a show on street food at Sunday’s Farmers Market which will include Dante’s and his Inferno Dogs and the folks from Veraci Pizza. Filming starts at 12:30 on Ballard Avenue so come on down and see behind-the-scenes of the Food Network. Who knows, you may even make it on TV! (Disclosure: Dante is a sponsor of MyBallard).

  1. I don't remember hearing about bad weather, but there were what, well over 20 vehicles waiting in the Les Schwab parking lot yesterday, and the wait was 2hrs. The guy at the counter said customers were saying snow was forecast, but he didn't know when.

That's too bad that the crew cancelled. If they reschedule for the following weekend, I'll do my best to get down there.

  2. Canadian crews are pussies. Except for the ones that will go snowboarding in the epic powder at whistler. but the rest of the canadian crew are pussies.

  3. actually, it is pretty nasty out there. As usual, the Canadians are right.

and why are non-snowboarding Canadians 'cats' motorad? not cool enough for you?

  4. TV is a money making bizo and really the shows just want to sell ad space. Who wants to watch it rain at a farmer's market? Just us in Seattle, me thinks.

I just wonder why they didn't schedule this malarky a few months ago. Yeesh.

  5. Rainy weather in Seattle area in Late November.. . never would have given odds on that.

Isn't Seattle known for pleasant weather year around.

Hehe, like B.C has it any better.

  6. +1 on Matilda's comment. The film crew is not afraid of the rain; a deserted farmer's market in the rain will make viewers change the channel.
