The weekend events calendar

Not to add stress to anyone’s lives, but Christmas is just TWO WEEKS away!

Here’s a quick look at what’s going on this weekend:

  • The Ingraham High School band, orchestra and jazz band will play music live to scenes from movies and TV shows. The school ‘s annual benefit concert, “Music of the Big (and small) Screen” is Friday at 7 p.m. Students $5, general admission $15. Pizza ($2), Vietnamese sandwiches ($5) and soft drinks ($1) available starting at 6 p.m. Baked goods and coffee also available. 1819 North 135th St.
  • Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. is Pemco’s “A Night of Giving” at The Canal to raise money for the families of fallen officers. Tickets can be purchased here.
  • On Saturday at 11 a.m. knit a Christmas ornament at the Ballard Library. Folks from Full Circle Yarn Shop will be there to help knitters of all skill levels. Please call the library at 206-684-4089 to sign up.
  • Building C Studios are holding their 4th Annual Holiday Show & Sale on Saturday, December 12th from noon – 9 p.m.
  • The monthly Ballard Art Walk is Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The map can be found here (.pdf).
  • In conjunction with the Art Walk, the In Ballard Merchant’s Association will be throwing a party in Bergen Place Park. From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday DJ Vinny will be spinning a danceable mix of holiday tunes.
  • The Seattle Mandolin Orchestra Holiday Concert is Sunday, 3 p.m. at the Ballard Library. The orchestra will present Christmas and Hanukkah favorites from here at home and around the world, featuring soprano Julie Finch as their vocalist.
  • Friends and neighbors of Woodland Park Presbyterian Church (225 North 70th Street) are invited to a Christmas Sing-Along on Sunday afternoon, December 13 at 4 p.m.
