Paseo, the top-rated restaurant in Ballard, is closed for a long winter break.
According to the sign posted on the side of the building, the popular Cuban/Caribbean sandwich shop at 6226 Seaview Ave will be closed until January 30th.

Might be a good time to test out the new Cuban restaurant on 15th.
Hopefully the cranky dude at the register will come back with a better attitude. I stopped going there this summer after dealing with mr pissyface one too many times, and I'm the kind of customer that generally cuts the employees quite a bit of slack.
If you're willing to go a little to the north, head to Paladar Cubano at the corner of 90th and Aurora. It's basically a Cuban truck (which is now ensconced in a white tent for the winter). Excellent food. Just park in the gravel lot on the corner and ignore the riff raff at the intersection.

The guy at the register told me this summer if you call in an order–you don't have to wait in line. He said just come up to the side near him and say you have a phone in order and they'll bump you ahead of the line since it's a quick cash pay!
i applaud them for doing this. i wish we all could have a month long vacation!
Nothing to do with waiting in line. This guy gave a very aggressive vibe to me every time. No hello, but a “whatthefuckdoyouwant?” attitude with no provocation. He would lighten up for the ladies, his buddies, then go back to douchemode at the next dude in line…just weird, like some sort of subconscious mating instinct was causing him to be aggressive to any other guy.
Aaaaaanyway…not a big deal really. The sandwiches are still good and I doubt that guy is still working there anyway.
As long as we're getting paid.
I always thought the guy at the register was nice and sortof reminds me of rainn wilson.
