  • Wednesday, January 20: Resume Writing Skills: How to write a resume and cover letter…or spruce up your current ones. Bring a printed copy of your resume to receive feedback on it.
  • Wednesday, January 27: Interviewing Skills: Preparing for interviews, answering tough questions, what not to say, and more.
  • Jennifer Seyler, MA will be giving the seminars from noon to 1 p.m., with Q & A following. 1. Congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment these days. Hope one of them works out, but even if not, getting that many interviews is a sign that you're doing something right.

    2. Excellent! Perhaps I'll get some pointers- I have been unemployed since April of 2008. And I have had TWO interview ssince then.

One of the nicest things EVER was when National Drycleaning up on 15th offere to clean unemployed persons interview suits for free. I did in fact take mine up there- it really, really made a difference to me, and meant a lot.

    3. People will flock to your directory once they see the better business are advertising with you. You can also intice people with printing money off coupons, the businesses will go for this because it gets people to use their services.

    4. I work for a newspaper and its hard to compete with us! I love it cause im the graphic designer. Anyways most buisness are are tight with marketing anyways you going to have to have a higher circulation, than the paper.

    5. Directories need to be redone at least annually.
They will need to know WHY people will use this book (and therefore see their ad)
Remember – they are asking what's in it for me? They are paying for advertising, so what can get they get in addition?

    6. First, you would want to get registered with Craiglist and then a get simple but very effective tool called “Craigslist Classified Ad Posting Utility 3.3”. Once you do these you can frequently post all of your classified ads in any directories you want.
