Sea lion removed from beach for evaluation

The male California sea lion that made its way to shore Sunday evening has been removed from the beach at Golden Gardens.

A small group of people gathered around the yellow caution tape Monday afternoon as National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) officials coerced the lethargic animal into a cage.

Although the sea lion has been practically motionless since last night, it did got up and move around as he was prodded into the cage.

NOAA officials tell us the animal will be taken to Point Defiance for evaluation.

  1. from the Times, “curious beachgoers and their dogs continued to harrass the animal”

wtf is wrong with you people? yeah, you. you, you and you also. man.

  2. My dog wouldn't do anything like tht. My dog is so smart and soooo cute. I talk to it like it is a human and bring it into bars so it can be near me and other people can see how smart and cute it is. My dog told me to put a “wag more, bark less” sticker on my Rav4 because it is so smart. oooh, and its soooo cute. My dog is a good doggy. sic

  3. If only they'd do this with the hobs washed ashore on Market St. Crate them up and send them back to where they came from.
