Nordic fashion hits the catwalk at Nordic Heritage Museum

On May 8th, the auditorium at the Nordic Heritage Museum will be full of fashionistas watching the catwalk at the Arctic Summer: A Nordic Fashion Show. Unfortunately, the show is so popular that it’s already sold out.

Danish brand Molo Kids.
Organizers have lined up nearly 20 Scandinavian designers who haven’t yet made their mark in Seattle. “It’s everything from more wearable, casual to more out there, extreme ‘high fashion'” Stina Cowen with the Nordic Heritage Museum tells us. Organizers have worked hard to bring in names that you can’t find here, like Nudie Jeans (Sweden), Spaksmannsspjarir (Iceland) and Molo Kids (Denmark). “Design is such an important component of Scandinavian life and culture and we wanted to take the opportunity to share that,” Cowen says.

The fashion show is timed with Sweden Week, which celebrates contemporary Sweden. In attendance at the fashion show will be honored guests Swedish Princess Madeleine (shown right) and Sounders Mid-fielder Freddie Ljungberg, who hails from Halmstad, Sweden.

There are quite a few events scheduled during Sweden Week, May 2-9th. For an entire rundown, click here.

  1. Or wear $40 T-shirts? This whole kids fashion thing confounds me, but alas I guess I am an old, out-of-touch troll to not understand.
