Christmas ship to sail around Ballard

The holiday tradition of the Argosy Christmas ship will be making its way around Ballard on Wednesday evening.

The Spirit of Seattle will be decorated with lights and depart from Shilshole at 7 p.m. On board will be the Northwest Girlchoir Amore singers, who will serenade two groups of shoreline spectators.

The parade of boats, now in its 61st year, will head to the Ballard Locks for some musical entertainment from 8:10-8:30 p.m. then go by Golden Gardens Park for another 20 minutes starting at 9:05 p.m. where there will be a bonfire on shore.

While the Christmas Ship itself is sold out, the follow boat, the KWJZ Jazz boat and the dinner boat, which is not part of the parade, all still have availability.

  1. More like “past” Ballard don’t you think. “Around” would be difficult, at least until the canals to the north and east are finished…
