Adams Elementary welcomes award-winning author

Posted by Geeky Swedes on January 19th, 2011

For the fourth year, each student at Adams Elementary is reading the same book as part of the “Adams Reads the Same Book” program. This year students are reading “Shredderman: Secret Identity,” a book about bullying and the internet. On Thursday evening, students, parents and the entire community are invited to meet the award-winning author, Wendelin Van Draanen. Her book “Flipped” received the California Young Reader Medal and was turned into a movie. She has also won the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Children’s Mystery.

On Thursday, Van Draanen will do a book reading and answer questions starting at 6:30 p.m. at Adams Elementary (6110 28th Ave NW.) Dante’s Inferno Dogs will be outside the cafeteria on the north side of the school from 6 to 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
