BHS music gets Gold Rating

Congratulations to the Ballard High School Concert Choir and Treble Choir conducted by Courtney Rowley – and the Ballard High School String Orchestra – conducted by Michael James – for their successful performances at the Vancouver Heritage Music Festival over Memorial Day weekend.

Congratulations to the following students on their incredible accomplishments over the past weekend. Each group received a Gold Rating (over 90 points out of 100) from each of the 9 judges and the Music Dept. won the Festival Sweepstakes Award for having the highest scores out of all schools in attendance. Schools from California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta competed. Several group and individual awards were also received: Concert Choir – Gold Rating and 2nd place in the 3A Concert Choir Division; Treble Choir – Gold Rating and 2nd place in the 3A Women’s Choir Division; Orchestra – Gold Rating and 1st place in the 3A String Orchestra Division; Orchestra – Adjudicators Award; Orchestra – Best Overall Orchestra; Orchestra – Maestro Award to violin soloist Eva Gaertner-Johnston. We are very proud of these students and their accomplishments. Thanks for all your support.
