A woman driving by a home at 11th Ave NW and NW 57th street may have saved some lives this afternoon. Just after 1 o’clock, the driver saw smoke on a front porch and dialed 911. According to Carolyn who emailed us, the woman pounded on the doors and woke two people who were sleeping inside. “I live across the street, just talked to both the heroine and the residents, everybody is okay,” Carolyn writes. “The heroine lives several doors down from us, but even living here ten years, I’d never seen her before. I didn’t get her name, but she’s my new favorite neighbor!” No word on the cause of the fire
