City money available for arts and cultural events

Posted by Geeky Swedes on September 6th, 2011

Apply now for funding through Neighborhood & Community Arts program. The Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs offers the funding to community groups with recurring neighborhood arts or cultural events. Community-based groups and neighborhood arts councils that have been around for at least one year are eligible to ask for financial assistance. In 2011, the funding program provided $1,200 each to 40 organizations to support annual public festivals and events, including the Wedgwood Art Festival, Moisture Festival, Bastille Day Festival and Iranian Festival. Funds cannot be used for fundraising or administrative expenses. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Oct. 26th. More information and the online application can be found here.
