An update to the Ballard Bridge painting

Posted by Geeky Swedes on November 18th, 2011

Expect northbound traffic delays on the Ballard Bridge starting Monday. The painting contractor for the Seattle Department of Transportation plans to close the outside northbound lane from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately six weeks. During this time the contractor will clean and paint the east side of the bridge. Once completed the contractor will then switch to the west side of the bridge, which will affect the southbound lanes.

Northbound bicyclists are detoured to the Fremont Bridge or the Ballard Locks because the bridge sidewalks are not wide enough for two-way bicycle traffic.

There will be full bridge closures during four upcoming weekends. The closures will be from 3 to 6 a.m. on Saturdays and midnight to 6 a.m. on Sundays. These closures have not been scheduled.
