Inflatable Santa stabbed on Market Street

Posted by Geeky Swedes on December 16th, 2011

Updated: Santa is back!

The Santa has been repaired and is back standing proudly in front of Romanza. All weekend kids were seen playing in the snow!

Earlier: Downtown Ballard is looking a little less “Christmasy” today.

John Sterlin of Romanza Gifts (2206 NW Market) tells us that their inflatable Santa was stabbed yesterday, bringing him to the ground. “The Santa has been a popular photo op since it appeared on November 19th under the snow-machine in front of the store,” Sterlin says. “It seems about every 15 minutes or so someone stops to photograph their child, a friend, or a loved one.” Sterlin says they are going to try to repair Santa and get him back in front of the store before Christmas.

“Any information anyone can provide about the vandals would be much appreciated,” Sterlin says. The store phone number is (206) 706-1764.
