Yozen now open on Market Street

Ballard’s first self-serve frozen yogurt shop is now open. Yozen opened just after Christmas in the old Asher Anson space (formerly Ben & Jerry’s) at 2038 NW Market Street.

Yozen has two different cup styles to choose from – one fits in cup holders in the car or in strollers, one is more your traditional dish – which you can fill with 12 different flavors. Flavors include the predictable chocolate and vanilla to cappuccino and cake batter. The flavors are organized in pairs, with the middle handle allowing you to blend the two. Add toppings, weigh the frozen treat, pay according to the weight and enjoy.

In the back there is also a party room that holds up to 15 people that you can use for free. Owners Geordie Sze & Linda Schetky also purchased Zak’s Burgers, which is next door, so people can bring in burgers, fries and eat yogurt in the party room. They are open Sunday through Thursday from Noon – 8 p.m. and Friday, Saturday Noon -9p.m.
