With hints of spring in the air, the Harbor Church in Ballard is gearing up for their community garden. This Thursday, March 8 at 9 a.m., the church will host a work day to finish building the garden.
The garden is right next to the Harbor Church parking lot, at 9204 11th Ave NW. Jana Koh from the church says anyone who’s interested in helping is welcome to join in during the day. “Once the garden is built, we’ll have a number of 4 x 8, 4 x 6, and 4 x4 foot plots available,” writes Koh.
Koh says some of the plots are already spoken for, so if people are interested, they should let her know immediately. “The spots are essentially first-come, first-serve, but those interested must contact me first so we can know who’s planting in which spot and keep things organized.” To find out more or to nab a plot, contact Koh at jana.koh@gmail.com.
