LED streetlight testing on 15th Ave NW will be underway this evening as a few hundred participants from our area help test out the alternative light source. The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) and City of Seattle will conduct the participant tests tonight and tomorrow from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

“We are doing this study at a critical time, since many streetlights are at the end of their lifespan and cities have to make sound business decisions with currently little technical proof that this new technology is better, cheaper and safer,” said Jeff Harris, director of emerging technology at NEEA.
