Ballard Bridge stuck in upright position this afternoon, causing back-ups

The Ballard Bridge was stuck in the upright position for about 30 minutes today due to a mechanical issue, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). The bridge has now lowered, but SDOT says traffic was backed up all the way to NW 85th Street.
