Boating season opens tomorrow, expect busy bridge traffic

Tomorrow, Saturday, May 5, is the Opening Day of boating season. Seattle celebrates the day with an annual boat parade from Lake Union to Lake Washington through the Montlake Cut. Boat traffic will be heavier than usual going through the Ballard Locks and the canal, which means the Ballard and Fremont bridges will be raised many times throughout the day. And, the Montlake Bridge will be closed from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., so plan your travel accordingly.
