Seattle Spoke & Food event tomorrow night

Tomorrow, restaurants across the city will participate in the third annual Spoke & Food event, “an evening of dining and bikes” where restaurants will donate 20 percet of their revenue to the FamilyWorks Resource Center & Food Bank. In Ballard, the Barking Dog Alehouse will participate, as will The Shelter from Salmon Bay. The Shelter, which has partnered with NW Peaks Brewery, will donate 100 percent of their beer sales on the night of the event to the charity. Ballard-based New Roots Organics is also a sponsor.

The event will take place from 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday night. The event was started three years ago, “by a group of friends as a way to influence the culture of Seattle, to build community and to show how easy and fun bicycling to and from dinner, while also raising money for charity,” according to a press release about the event.
