Updated 5:45 p.m.: Witnesses at the scene say a passerby picked two men up after an 18-foot power boat capsized. One of the men died, the other was taken to the hospital where he is said to be in stable condition. The Coast Guard is currently with the sinking boat outside the breakwater.

This was originally reported as a boat collision, but a second boat has yet to be found.

The Coast Guard retrieved two people from the water, reports KIRO 7, but one boater — described as a man in his 60s — could not be revived. KIRO’s helicopter showed an overturned 18-foot boat being towed back to shore.

Seattle PD says it’s investigating the cause of the accident, and a drug recognition officer has been assigned to the case.

We’re headed to the scene and will provide more updates shortly…
