Police on site say a large yacht hit the power boat, capsizing it. The yacht, pictured below, then took the two men from the capsized boat on board and drove back to the marina. One man died at the scene and the other is at the hospital in stable condition. That boat is still at Shilshole. Police are questioning the captain of the yacht, according to Police sergeant Vela.
Capsized boat, hauled in by Coast Guard
Updated 5:45 p.m.: Witnesses at the scene say a passerby picked two men up after an 18-foot power boat capsized. One of the men died, the other was taken to the hospital where he is said to be in stable condition. The Coast Guard is currently with the sinking boat outside the breakwater.
This was originally reported as a boat collision, but a second boat has yet to be found.
Earlier: One person is dead and another has been rushed to Harborview Medical Center after a boating accident off Shilshole Marina, says the Seattle Fire Department. A yacht and fishing boat collided about a mile from shore, according to Seattle PD.

The Coast Guard retrieved two people from the water, reports KIRO 7, but one boater — described as a man in his 60s — could not be revived. KIRO’s helicopter showed an overturned 18-foot boat being towed back to shore.
Seattle PD says it’s investigating the cause of the accident, and a drug recognition officer has been assigned to the case.
We’re headed to the scene and will provide more updates shortly…
