Learn about rain gardens and cisterns tonight at the Ballard Market

Tonight from 4 to 6 p.m., Sustainable Ballard will be at the Ballard Market to answer questions about rain gardens and cisterns. The appearance is part of the RainWise program, in which Sustainable Ballard is teaming up with Seattle Public Utilities to help residents learn about ways to improve the health of local waterways by using rain gardens and cisterns. There are rebate programs available for residents in Ballard who contract to have the gardens installed. According to Sustainable Ballard, the city will reimburse up to 100 percent of the installation costs, and the average rebate is $4,000. Learn more here.
