Saturday, Nov. 10 is the Ballard-based New York Fashion Academy’s Silent Auction and Fundraiser. The money raised will go to support the fashion academy students’ fashion show in April 2013.

Funds from the auction will go toward the $10,000 it costs to put on the fashion show each year. The academy has also started a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money. With help, they’ll be able to secure professional lighting services, insurance for the show, professional DJ services, photographers, runway construction and more. There are 13 senior design students that will be featured at the fashion show in April. “If we don’t reach our goal with our fundraising, the show cannot go on. There is no back-up plan,” explains Joe Matson in the Kickstarter video.
The auction and fundraiser is Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the New York Fashion Academy on the corner of Ballard Ave and 20th Ave NW. Learn more here.
