It’s Christmas for the animals at Woodland Park Zoo

Christmas is coming a little early for the animals at the Woodland Park Zoo next week. The animals will be getting wreaths, trees with ornamental fruit and wrapped boxes of snacks as part of the Winter Celebration. The celebration will be Monday to Wednesday, Dec. 17-19 and Wednesday to Friday, Dec. 26-28.

Here’s a schedule of the gift-giving for the animals:

Monday, Dec. 17

  • Wallaroos/emus 11:00
  • Wolves 11:30 Anoa noon
  • Golden lion tamarins 1:00
  • Elephants 2:00

Tuesday, Dec. 18

  • Orangutans 11:00
  • Kunekune pigs 1:30
  • Jaguar 2:00

Wednesday, Dec. 19

  • Ocelot 11:00
  • Tree kangaroo 11:30
  • Meerkats 1:00
  • Warthogs 1:30
  • Elephants 2:00

Wednesday, Dec. 26

  • Ocelot 11:00
  • Tree kangaroo 11:30
  • Grizzlies noon
  • Warthogs 1:30

Thursday, Dec. 27

  • Snow leopards 11:00
  • Wallaroos/emus 11:00
  • Gorillas noon
  • Golden lion tamarins 1:00
  • Jaguar 2:00

Friday, Dec. 28

  • Anoa noon

The Winter Celebration is free with regular zoo admission. Winter zoo hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
