Enjoy the sun – rain returns this weekend

We’ve been getting some serious sun the last few days, but that stretch is set to come to a halt tomorrow as rain is in the forecast for the next few days. According to the National Weather Service, tomorrow will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 46. The weekend will bring a 40 percent chance of showers on Saturday and a 30 percent on Sunday with highs around the mid-40s. Next week brings more rain, with highs lingering in the 40s.

University of Washington meteorologist Cliff Mass says today, Jan. 3, is climatologically the coldest day of the year in Seattle. The average high drops to 43 and the low drops to 33, and then things start warming up again. Click here for his article and a graph that shows temperature records from 1948 to 2012.
