On Saturday, Jan. 12, there will be a restoration party at Golden Gardens. The organizers say they need help removing invasive plants like ivy and blackberry that are taking over the native forest. They’ll begin planting native conifer trees in areas that have been restored in the coming months.
The work party is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and will meet at the restroom between the dog park and upper parking lot. They’ll provide tools, gloves and training, and ask that volunteers bring sturdy boots and warm clothes. Any questions can be directed to Doug at (206) 794-4520 or email at email@example.com.
