Paratii Craft Bar closes its doors for good

Ballard’s Paratii Craft Bar (formerly located at 5463 Leary Ave NW) closed last Friday February 15th. Owner Sam Hassan has a new distillery project underway and could not maintain both the project and the bar without additional investment.

Paratii opened in 2011 and was well known for its tasty Brazilian cuisine. The bar was also famous for serving unique beers such as “True Love”, a lavender-chocolate porter that Hassan created in partnership with Alejandro Brown of Big Al’s Brewing.

He will keep busy with his new project and is currently looking to sublease from a local distillery. He hopes to create unique infusions, such as rum infused with banana preserves, that were a common find on the cocktail menu at Paratti.

Hassan reported that Billy Beach, owner of downtown “sushi cocina” Japonessa, will open a sushi bar in the Paratti space.

We will keep readers updated on the progress of the new eatery.
